I. His Person -
A. He possesses and exhibits all of the Divine attributes of the Godhead [i.e. those attributes reserved to God alone] namely; Omniscience, Omnipotence, Omnipresence, Eternality, and Immutability (see Article on God for Divine attributes).
B. He possesses certain moral attributes, [attributes which may also be imputed to man, though God alone possesses them in absolute perfection] namely;
1). Truth - John 14:16-17, 15:26, & 16:13.
2). Holiness - Luke 11:13, 12:12; John 14:26.
3). Goodness - Psalm 143:10; Nehemiah 9:20.
4). Graciousness - Zechariah 12:10: Hebrews 10:29.
II. His Work -
A. Before the Incarnation [i.e. prior to Christ's earthly ministry];
1). Was an active agent in the creation - Genesis 1:2; Job 26:13, 33:4; Psalm 104:30.
2). Empowered men;
a). To prophesy - Numbers 24:2-3; I Samuel 10:6&10, 19:20.
b). To fight battles - Judges 6:34, 14:6, & 15:14.
c). To lead people - Judges 3:10; I Samuel 16:13.
d). To do works for God - Exodus 31:3; II Chronicles 20:14; Zechariah 4:6-9.
3). Performed miracles - Galatians 4:29, Genesis 21:1-2.
4). Pleaded with men - Genesis 6:3.
B. During the Incarnation;
1). Was an active agent in the conception of Christ - Matthew 1:20; Luke 1:35.
2). Bore witness of the Son - Matthew 3:16; Mark 1:10-11; Luke 3:22; John 15:26.
3). Filled men to prophesy - Luke 1:41&67, & 2:25.
