II. God's Repentance:
A. Of some things God has repented and will repent [though not due to any sinful action] - Genesis 6:6&7; Exodus 32:14; I Samuel 15:11&35; II Samuel 24:16; I Chronicles 21:15.
B. Of some things God will not repent, nor is He ever required to do so - Numbers 23:19; I Samuel 15:29; Psalm 110:4; Jeremiah 4:28; Ezekiel 24:14; Romans 11:29.
III. Man's repentance:
A. Repentance which leads to salvation is a change of mind about:
1). One's Sins - Ezekiel 18:30; Acts 2:38.
2). One's self - Job 42:6; Colossians 1:21.
3). works - Hebrews 6:1-8.
4). God - Acts 14:15, 17:22-31.
B. Repentance in men is required by God - Matthew 4:17; Luke 13:3-5; Acts 17:30.
C. God desires repentance in all men - Acts 17:30; II Peter 3:9.
D. Failure to repent leads to men's destruction - Luke 13:3-5.
E. Repentance in men is granted by God - Acts 5:31, 11:18; II Timothy 2:25.
F. God's goodness leads men to repent - Romans 2:4; Hebrews 6:4-8; II Peter 3:9.
G. Repentance in men is a product of godly sorrow - II Corinthians 7:9-10.
H. Repentance precedes saving faith - Acts 20:21; Mark 1:15; Matthew 21:32.
